it's easy to thaw your heater's condensate pipe

As Ed said, this is really important to take care of, before it makes your heater shut off.

if you don't have joints in your condensate pipe (you didn't put on an extension to keep it from dripping on your AC bracket) but just the pipe end, and there's an ice plug in it, a simple hairdrier will do the job:

You can plug it into the exterior outlet that's near your AC. (If you do have joints, it may take longer. The question of extensions to the condensate pipe that direct drips away from the AC bracket but don't ice up is being worked on.)

Feel how hot the air out of the hairdrier is with your hand before applying it to the pipe. Warm is enough, hot may melt the pipe or the nearby AC coolant line insulation. Playing the warm air around the condensate pipe for a few minutes melts the plug where it touches the pipe, and it's pushed out, sometimes followed by an impressive shower of water.

When you do this BE CAREFUL where you hold the hairdrier and if you plug it into an extension cord, where that plug is relative to where the water will flow. Mine got soaked when the water came out; luckily it had a breaker, which tripped. Do not electrocute yourself doing this.
