MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

First, a sincere thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Council President. Charles Rehill and I are very anxious to address and resolve the many issues affecting all of us as Fairfield homeowners and we will work hard to eliminate unnecessary spending, insure cost effectiveness and improve accountability for contractual services beginning immediately.

With the 2009 budget deadline upon us, as our first order of business, we have appointed Carolyn Buckley to serve as the Association’s Treasurer. Carolyn’s education combined with 30 years of experience as an accountant and controller in the construction trades makes her an ideal candidate to assist us in bringing expenses and spending under control. We welcome her and thank her for taking on this key position.

Equally urgent is our need to recruit candidates to fill the council seat soon to be vacated by Sandra Carl, as well as the office of vice president, and secretary. If you are interested in serving your community, please e-mail your resume to me at plshaw1017@hotmail.com no later than November 15, 2009. In this way we hope to have our entire team of officers and council in place well in advance of the start of the 2009 fiscal year.

We are most interested in your ideas on how we can improve our community and will rely heavily on you to let us know what is important to you as well as what’s working and what is not. And, now that we have our website available, we will be adding many more features to improve communication and insure timely corrective action.

One final note. While we recognize that in the past many of you graciously volunteered to serve on various committees that regrettably never got off the ground, we will be taking a much different approach for our Advisory Council. You will hear more about this in the very near future, but for right now, we have to focus our attention on the 2009 budget.
